New York has so many romantic spots like bridges, shores, parks, and hotel terraces. People not only prefer to celebrate their special life events at these places, but love to capture their everlasting memories, too. Due to the amazing lights, beautiful scenery, hustle and bustle, and love in the air, engagement sessions in New York seem to always be happening. Manhattan and its neighboring boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island make the perfect background for proposing marriage.
Engagement photography in New York is sought after because there are so many amazing spots available that give your photos a special touch. If you are looking for the perfect place to propose and take engagement photos in New York, here are some of my top spots:
1. Central Park
Central Park has so many different spots that are perfect for a romantic proposal. It is believed to be one of the most proposed-in places in the world! With so many romantic areas to choose from inside this 843-acre park, the hardest part will be deciding which one is best to get down on one knee. Popular locations include Bow Bridge, Conservatory Garden, Belvedere Castle, and Shakespeare Garden.
2. Dumbo’s Washington Street:
This is one of the busiest streets of New York with so many tourists and locals. The feel of the street is so lavish and classy due to buildings of hotels and offices in the adjacent. If you are careful of the traffic and don’t get distracted by the astonishing sights, this spot can give you amazing and memorable shoot of your New York proposal.
3. citizenM Hotel at Times Square:
The third spot is the citizenM Hotel at Times Square. This hotel has amazing outdoor areas and a rooftop bar that provides incredibles views of the city. Day or night, these are a great backdrop for your engagement photos. Having the best photographer can make your engagement photos in New York at citizenM Hotel one of a kind.
4. Grand Central Terminal:
If you like indoor shooting and beaming lights from the high ceilings, then Grand Central Station is just the place where you should capture your engagement shoot. This station has stairs, terraces, sitting chairs, and lots of amazing people around that can give your wedding photography in New York an everlasting and memorable feel. Or have your love meet you under the iconic brass clock in the center.
5. The Morgan Library:
For couples who love books and cannot live without reading, Morgan Library is the place for you! This library has fancy carpets, antique bookshelves, and comfy furnishings. Moreover, the library is one of the more quiet places in New York so hopefully no one will disturb you during your engagement shoot. However, make sure to ask permission from the librarian first.
These are some of the best places for engagement photos in New York that are worth considering. However, some of the other places I also love are your favorite coffee shop, restaurant, or park! Anywhere that has special meaning to the two of you. I’d love to hear what your most meaningful spot and/or location is!
