Corinne & Orin’s micro-wedding in Central Park

Elopement wedding photography in Central Park is always magical

Once the pandemic threw all the 2020 wedding plans into disarray, Corinne told me they were going to wait until summer 2021 at least - she and Orin had been together for over a decade, so what was another year? Then in early August I got a text that basically said “We’re getting married in two weeks in the Park! Can you be there?”

Bethesda Terrace weddings are perfection

If nothing else, 2020 taught us all to truly live for the moment, and there was no better example of that than Corrine & Orin’s wedding, which consisted of the two of them and their maid of honor and best man (who also officiated). They all prepared by quarantining and being tested so that on the day, the 4 of them could meet and celebrate without six feet of space between them. Living in the moment doesn’t mean not taking precautions!

Despite some almost delays and last minute hiccups (which included a sprint by my son from our building to Corrine’s apartment to the park in order to deliver a forgotten engagement ring in time for the ceremony), the wedding itself was truly one of my favorites. It was intimate, emotional and full of laughter. One hour of time, but every second was special, and it showed in the images. Sometimes smaller is better, or at least every bit as good, because it lacks the stress and distractions of a large venue. Documentary wedding photography is a natural fit for these smaller, more intimate settings.

Here’s to Corinne and Orin, and to making beautiful memories in the darkest of times.
