Documentary Wedding Photographer
Heartfelt, authentic images that reflect your wedding story as it happens.

Natural Photos That Tell Your Story
You deserve to enjoy every moment of your special day, which is all about you. As your documentary wedding photographer, I capture those natural moments without posing or directing. This is your story, and I’m there to document it as it unfolds.
Capturing What Happens, As it Happens
Whatever takes place—laughter, tears, and everything in between—I’m there with you to quietly document it. I don’t impose my (or anyone else’s) preconceived notions of what your photos need to look like. The result is images that are genuine, unposed, unscripted, and entirely yours. Because every wedding is different, and your images should be, too.
A Calming Presence
Couples often tell me my presence feels calming and reassuring. Your wedding day is full of excitement and emotion, and I want you to feel at ease through it all. I adapt to the shifting atmosphere (whether it’s lively and playful or quiet and intimate) so you can stay present in each moment.

A true documentary wedding photographer strives to be in the moment at all times, rather than directing the action to “create” a moment. Your wedding photographs should reflect your day exactly as it was lived—unscripted, joyful, and full of real connection. As a documentary wedding photographer in NYC, I approach every celebration with a steady, supportive presence, observing and capturing genuine moments as they unfold.

Every couple is different, but often the photos couples wind up coming back to again and again aren’t the posed, formal shots, but the candid moments they didn’t even know were being captured. This is the heart of documentary wedding photography: to tell the true, unscripted story of your wedding day. As a couple, you are unique; your wedding won’t be like anyone else’s. Documentary wedding photography means your photos will reflect your unique personality and style, with images you’ll treasure forever.

Yes. While documentary wedding photography is my speciality, I will of course take some group shots, typically spending no more than 15-20 minutes on them.

Your wedding day doesn’t need direction; it only needs someone who sees it. My role is to capture the unscripted moments as they are happening rather than imposing any ideas. As a result, I don’t give any direction. I document your wedding as it truly happens. You shouldn’t feel that your wedding is a performance. My wish is that you spend as little time thinking about photos as possible, and all of your time simply enjoying the day together.
-
Yes. As a documentary-style wedding photographer, I capture all the candid, fleeting moments of your day from start to finish.
-
Absolutely. I’ll travel anywhere in the United States, and can shoot destination weddings outside the country as well.

The best way is to contact me with your wedding date and location so that I can check my availability. After that, we can meet either via phone, video chat, or in person to discuss details and get to know one another. I require a $200 non-refundable deposit in order to hold the date. The remainder of the balance is due no later than 1 month prior to the wedding. If you are working with a shortened time frame, meaning less than one month before the wedding, full payment is due upon booking.

This varies somewhat, but it generally takes 4 to 6 weeks for me to thoroughly edit your images. This ensures that I can dedicate the time your photos deserve to create a gallery of lasting memories you’ll cherish. Once complete, you’ll be given the link to an online gallery that contains all of the edited images.

Yes, I am fully insured with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I can provide a certificate of insurance to the venue owners/managers if required. I’d also encourage you to confirm that every vendor you hire is fully insured.

I focus on story telling through raw moments that reflect the authentic, real you. Rather than staged poses, I document the candid interactions and emotions at your wedding that happen naturally, creating images that feel truthful. Every photograph becomes part of a visual narrative that beautifully shares your love story.
