Documenting each genuine moment as your day unfolds with ease and emotion.
A city hall wedding represents more than a brief ceremony. It is a heartfelt and joyful start to your life together. Whether your celebration includes only two witnesses or a small gathering of loved ones, I focus on capturing the honest moments that make your day unforgettable, without posing or interruption.
From the Manhattan Marriage Bureau on Worth Street to Brooklyn City Hall or even City Hall in Albany, New York, these intimate weddings remain some of the most meaningful experiences I photograph. If you are planning a city hall wedding and would like to discuss your vision for the day, I would be happy to hear from you and talk through your ideas. My Approach to City Hall Documentary-Style Wedding Photography
City hall weddings have a special charm all their own. The setting blends civic tradition with the quiet formality of an intimate wedding, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounded and meaningful. Documentary style wedding photography fits seamlessly into this environment by preserving your story moment by moment, exactly as it naturally unfolds.Having been married at City Hall in Manhattan myself, I feel a strong connection to these types of weddings. That personal experience shapes the way I photograph them. My goal is to blend into the background with a steady and calm presence, allowing your day to move forward organically while I capture the emotions and interactions as they happen. Many couples tell me they do not enjoy posing for photos or feel uneasy in front of a camera. If that sounds like you, you are not alone. After the wedding, those same couples often share how comfortable they felt throughout the day and how much they ended up loving their images. Hearing that never gets old. City hall weddings and documentary photography are where my passion lives. If you feel drawn to that approach, I would love to connect.Honest Photos That Tell Your Unique Wedding Story
City hall weddings are photographed with the same attention and respect as any grand wedding celebration, because each one is meaningful in its own way. The galleries below give a glimpse into the moments I have captured, including candid interactions, real emotion, and the honest flow of the day from start to finish.

I remain present but unobtrusive, allowing moments to develop naturally while carefully documenting the emotions and interactions that make your day unique.

Your relationship has its own rhythm and story, and the images that often carry the most meaning are the unscripted ones. Documentary wedding photography focuses on preserving the natural flow of your wedding day rather than orchestrating it. Yes, there will still be some posed group photographs. While candid moments are my focus, I always set aside a short window of time for family and wedding party portraits, usually no longer than twenty minutes.

I believe your wedding day should unfold without instruction. My role is to quietly witness and document what is happening rather than influence it. I do not provide direction because your day is meant to be experienced, not staged. I want you to stay present and enjoy every moment together without worrying about the camera.

To book, simply contact me with your wedding date and venue details so I can check my calendar. If I am available, we will schedule a conversation by phone, video chat, or in person to talk through expectations and ensure we are a good fit. A two hundred dollar non refundable deposit is required to secure the date, with the remaining balance due one month before the wedding. For weddings booked within a shorter timeframe, full payment is due upon confirmation.

Most galleries are delivered within four to six weeks following the wedding day. This timeframe allows me to give careful attention to each photograph so the final collection feels cohesive and meaningful. Once completed, you will receive a private link to your online gallery.

Photography is permitted during a Brooklyn City Clerk wedding as long as it is respectful. Photos are not allowed in security areas, and staff may ask photographers to keep walkways open. I focus on quiet, candid imagery so your ceremony experience remains genuine.

No permit is required for handheld photography outside Brooklyn city hall following your ceremony. Portraits on courthouse steps or nearby public areas are allowed. A permit would only be necessary for large equipment or blocked spaces.

Weather can add character to your story. Rain or snow often enhances the atmosphere of the photographs, and there are always covered locations available nearby. Since ceremonies are scheduled, we can adjust portrait timing as needed.
