Preserving the beauty of candid moments as your day unfolds naturally.
A city hall wedding is more than a brief ceremony. It is a heartfelt and joyful beginning filled with meaning and intention. Whether your day includes only two witnesses or a small gathering of loved ones, I am there to photograph every genuine moment as it unfolds naturally.
Whether your ceremony takes place at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau on Worth Street, Brooklyn City Hall, or City Hall in Albany, New York, these low stress and intimate weddings are always among my favorite experiences to document. If you are thinking about a city hall wedding and want to talk through your plans, please reach out. I would love to connect. My Approach to City Hall Documentary-Style Wedding Photography
City hall weddings carry a unique sense of beauty and authenticity. The combination of a public civic space with the intimacy of a small wedding creates an atmosphere that feels sincere and meaningful. Documentary style wedding photography captures this perfectly by preserving the story of your day exactly as it happens.
I was married at City Hall in Manhattan, which is why these weddings hold a special place in my heart. That personal experience informs the way I photograph them. I aim to move quietly through your day with a calm presence, allowing moments to unfold naturally while I document them honestly.
Many couples I work with tell me they are not comfortable posing or being photographed. If that sounds like you, you are in the right place. After the wedding, those same couples often share how relaxed they felt and how much they love their photos. That feedback is incredibly meaningful to me. City hall weddings and documentary photography are what I truly love. If you feel the same, I would love to connect.Honest Photos That Tell Your Unique Wedding Story
I photograph city hall weddings with intention and care, understanding that every wedding has its own unique energy and narrative. The galleries below provide a glimpse into the moments I have captured, from subtle interactions to heartfelt emotion and the natural progression of the day.

I give very little direction. Your wedding day does not need instruction or staging. My goal is to document it as it truly happens, allowing you to focus on being present and enjoying your time together without distraction.

Photography is generally welcomed during Long Island city clerk ceremonies, provided it is respectful of staff and space. Photos are not allowed at security checkpoints, and staff may remind photographers to keep walkways clear. I work discreetly and attentively, focusing on candid moments so the ceremony remains authentic and undisturbed.

No permit is required for handheld photography outside city hall after your ceremony. We can take portraits on courthouse steps or nearby public areas without issue. A permit would only be required if large equipment is used or if public access is restricted. With limited guest attendance, the experience outside typically feels smooth and relaxed.
-
Weather can add character and emotion to your photographs. Rain or snow often enhances the story rather than detracts from it. Covered areas are always available, and with scheduled ceremony times, we can plan portrait sessions with flexibility.

Yes. After your Long Island city hall ceremony, I can recommend nearby locations that work well for portraits. These options can be discussed during our planning call so everything feels seamless.

City hall wedding fees typically include a thirty five dollar marriage license and a twenty five dollar ceremony fee. I suggest confirming local requirements and fees ahead of time.
