Documenting the quiet, heartfelt moments that define your celebration.
A city hall wedding is not just about efficiency or convenience. It is a meaningful and joyful way to begin your life together. Whether you are eloping privately or inviting a small group of loved ones, I am there to photograph every honest and unforgettable moment as it naturally occurs.
No matter where your ceremony takes place, whether at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau on Worth Street, Brooklyn City Hall, or City Hall in Albany, New York, these relaxed and intimate weddings remain some of my favorites to document. If you are planning a city hall wedding and would like to discuss your vision, please feel free to reach out.My Approach to City Hall Documentary-Style Wedding Photography
City hall weddings offer a beautiful and unique experience. The blend of a civic environment with the intimacy of a small wedding creates a setting that feels both official and deeply personal. Documentary style wedding photography is perfectly suited for these celebrations because it captures your story naturally as it unfolds.
Having been married at City Hall in Manhattan, I approach these weddings with a deep sense of care and understanding. I know how meaningful the experience can be. My role is to quietly observe and document your day, allowing everything to happen naturally while I capture it honestly.
Many couples I work with tell me they do not enjoy posing or being photographed. If that feels familiar, you are in good company. After the wedding, those same couples often share how comfortable they felt and how much they love their images. That feedback never gets old. City hall weddings and documentary photography are what I love most. If you feel drawn to that approach, I would love to connect.Honest Photos That Tell Your Unique Wedding Story
City hall weddings are approached with the same level of care as any grand event, because each one carries its own atmosphere and story. The galleries below share a selection of the moments I have captured, focusing on real emotion, natural interactions, and the way the day moved forward organically.

Yes, posed family portraits are included. While candid moments make up the heart of my work, I recognize the importance of having photographs with family and loved ones. I keep this portion of the day brief and relaxed, typically spending fifteen to twenty minutes, so it feels natural and does not take away from the overall experience.

My intention is for you to experience your day fully without feeling guided, interrupted, or asked to perform. By staying unobtrusive, I allow your moments to unfold naturally while documenting them honestly, so you can focus on being present with each other and enjoying your time together.

Photography is allowed during Queens City Clerk ceremonies as long as it is respectful of the space. Photos are not permitted at security checkpoints, and staff may occasionally remind photographers to keep walkways clear. I focus on candid documentary style imagery so your ceremony remains uninterrupted.

No permit is required for handheld photography outside the courthouse after your ceremony. Portraits on courthouse steps or in nearby public spaces are permitted. A permit would only be necessary for large equipment or blocked areas. With limited guest attendance, the experience outside is typically calm.

Weather often enhances the visual story. Rain or snow can add mood and atmosphere, and covered areas are always available nearby. Scheduled ceremony times allow us to adjust plans with ease.
