Why Choose Amy Milstein Photography
For me, documentary wedding photography is about creating an honest visual story that reflects the emotions, relationships, and unforgettable moments that make every wedding unique. It calls for patience, thoughtful observation, and the ability to recognize beauty in the smallest interactions that often go unnoticed. Throughout each celebration, I quietly follow the natural progression of the day, documenting authentic experiences instead of directing them. My work centers on the genuine laughter, heartfelt tears, quiet conversations, and meaningful connections that define your wedding. By choosing to photograph only a limited number of weddings each year, I am able to dedicate the time, care, and artistic attention needed to create a truly personal collection of memories.

Yes. Documentary photography influences my general philosophy, but I also recognize how important formal family portraits are for the long term. Before we get back to the party I plan a short and sweet session, around fifteen to twenty minutes, to make sure everyone is photographed well, giving you the perfect blend of timeless portraits and candid moments.

My philosophy is to let your wedding day happen as it will and to document it with patience and careful observation. I am not the photographer who sets up scenes at different times throughout the celebration. I focus on capturing real feelings and important moments as they happen. I take photographs that honestly reflect your relationships, your personalities and the atmosphere of your wedding by being unobtrusive and allowing things to unfold without unnecessary interruption. You can be fully present with the people that matter most and I can preserve those memories just as they happened.

Wedding galleries are usually completed and delivered to you within four to six weeks of your wedding day. This gives us plenty of time to go through each photo, edit artistically and curate thoughtfully so that your final gallery tells the whole story of your celebration. When the editing is complete, your photos will be accessible via a secure online gallery that can be viewed, downloaded, and shared with loved ones at any time.

Certainly. I am fully insured with professional indemnity and public liability insurance, giving peace of mind to couples and their wedding venues. Many venues require photographers to have appropriate insurance and I am always happy to show proof of coverage whenever it is requested. Hiring insured professionals is a step toward a more secure and worryless wedding.
