Documentary Wedding Photographer in Upper East Side
Authentic photography that reflects the joy and story of your celebration in the most natural way.

Natural Photos That Tell Your Story on The Upper East Side
On your Upper East Side wedding day, you deserve to be immersed in every detail, knowing the day is centered on your love. As your documentary photographer, I gently capture the natural flow of events without asking you to pose or perform. This is your story, and my presence is simply to document it with sincerity as it unfolds in one of the city’s most timeless settings.
Capturing What Happens, As it Happens
From laughter spilling out of elegant rooms to tears that come without warning, and all the small gestures between, I will be there with you, quietly recording it all. I never impose my vision of what wedding photos should be, because this day is about you alone. The result is imagery that is honest, unposed, and deeply personal. Every wedding on the Upper East Side is distinctive, and your photographs should reflect that same sense of individuality and beauty.
A Calming Presence
Many couples describe my presence during their wedding day as soothing and reassuring. A wedding is a time overflowing with emotion and anticipation, and my role is to help you feel at ease through every stage. I move fluidly with the pace of the day, adjusting to moments of energy and joy as well as periods of stillness and intimacy, so that you may stay fully engaged with the experiences that matter most.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A documentary wedding photographer values honesty above all, choosing to capture reality instead of arranging scenes. The mission is to create photographs that show your wedding just as it unfolds, alive with joy and meaning. On the Upper East Side, I carry this practice into each wedding, blending into the surroundings so I can capture the genuine moments that tell your love story.

Often, the images that couples revisit most fondly are the ones they didn’t notice being taken: the candid smiles, the quiet gestures, the moments that reveal the depth of their relationship. This is what documentary photography celebrates. Your wedding is unlike any other, and your photos will reflect your uniqueness, leaving you with a collection of memories you will treasure always.
-
Yes. Although my focus is documentary photography, I also dedicate a short period, generally 15 to 20 minutes, to capturing family portraits. These images are important keepsakes, and I ensure they are taken efficiently so you can quickly return to your celebration.

Your wedding does not require instructions or choreography, it only calls for someone who understands how to see and preserve what is already happening. My role is to be present and capture authentic, unscripted moments as they come to life, without interfering or shaping them to fit an idea. Because of this, I provide no direction. Instead, I commit to documenting your wedding as it truly is. You should not feel like you are putting on a show for the camera. My greatest wish is that you spend as little time as possible worrying about photographs, and as much time as you can fully living and enjoying the day you worked so hard to create.
-
Yes. All of the important events are documented with care, from your first look through to the vows and speeches, preserving the raw emotions that make each moment unforgettable.
-
Absolutely. I am available to travel to the Upper East Side for weddings, as well as anywhere else in the United States. I also photograph destination weddings internationally.
-
The best first step is to provide me with your Upper East Side wedding date and venue details so that I can confirm my availability. After that, we can arrange time for a conversation, whether by phone, video chat, or in-person meeting, to go over everything and give us the opportunity to connect more closely. To secure your wedding date on my calendar, a $200 non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance should then be paid no later than one month before your wedding. For couples working within a shorter planning window of less than one month before their Upper East Side wedding, the full payment is due upon booking.
-
You can expect your completed wedding photos within four to six weeks after your big day. I dedicate this time to carefully editing every image, ensuring that the final gallery beautifully represents the spirit and emotion of your celebration. Once the process is complete, I’ll provide access to a secure online gallery where you can view and share your photographs with those closest to you.

Yes, I am fully covered with professional indemnity insurance as well as public liability insurance. This ensures a level of security and professionalism that both you and your venue can rely on. If requested, I can supply a certificate of insurance for venue staff, and I always recommend making sure each vendor at your wedding is properly insured.

Storytelling through photography comes from focusing on authentic, unscripted experiences. I don’t guide or interrupt the natural flow of your day. Instead, I document the spontaneous emotions and small gestures that often go unnoticed but hold so much meaning. Together, these captured memories create a powerful narrative of your love story in its truest form.
