Frequently Asked Questions

Wedding photography that isn't posed in NY

You’re located in New York City. Will you travel elsewhere?

Absolutely. I’ll travel anywhere in the United States, and can shoot destination weddings outside the country as well.

How would you describe your style of photography?

You can find more detailed information in the section that describes wedding photojournalism with highlights of my work, but I describe myself as a documentary wedding photographer. This means I make pictures as unobtrusively as possible, documenting your wedding day as it happens.

I’ll never tell someone where to move or what to do, and won’t “stage” any photos. My goal is to record genuine lasting moments, rather than to direct you and your guests into poses or situations that wouldn’t have happened organically.

As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, will you take group photos?

Although my style is entirely photojournalistic, I do understand that it is often important for the families to have a few formal group shots, and of course I’m happy to accommodate. I encourage couple to plan no more than 3-5 group photos. We’ll do them quickly and professionally, taking approximately 15-20 minutes from start to finish.

How do we book you for our wedding?

The best way it to contact me with your wedding date and location so that I can check my availability. After that we can meet either via phone, video chat or in person to discuss details and get to know one another. I require a $200 non-refundable deposit in order to hold the date. The remainder of the balance is due no later than 1 month prior to the wedding. If you are working with a shortened time frame, meaning less than one month before the wedding, full payment is due upon booking.

How long after the wedding will we get our photos?

This varies somewhat, but it generally takes 4-6 weeks for me to completely edit your wedding. This ensures that I can dedicate the time your photos deserve to create a gallery of lasting memories you’ll cherish. Once complete, you’ll be given the link to an online gallery which contains all of the edited images.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I can provide a certificate of insurance to the venue owners/managers if required. I’d encourage you to confirm that every vendor you hire is fully insured.
